Jibe

Jibe is a French comic book artist that I’ve worked with on many occasions. I wrote this story, and together we made it into a small comic board to share.

It’s a pretty simple story of man that dies and finds out that there is no afterlife, and he will instead be reincarnated to live a new life. He finds out he will have the wisdom of his past lives but fail to recall the finer details. The man also finds out that he is everybody who lives and he is everyone who will ever live. He’s the only human being and he just lives to die so that he reincarnates and becomes a better person the next round. Everytime he hurts somebody he is only hurting himself.

The irony and moral of this story is that what we do, we do to ourselves: the poor and the rich, the black and the yellow, and the muslim or the jew.

I avoided translating it to english because I was worried of losing the passion that we gave to it. In an ironic way, it’s a large part of how I feel about life.
